1) Bring down your body weight to the normal range through exercise, at least three times a week.
2) Do not take sugar.
3) Eat fruits with low sugar content, like apple, pear and orange.
4) Apple contains pectin which contain soluble fibre. It will slow down the process of glucose absorption.
5) Bananas, mango,pineapples and longans are too sweet for the sufferers.
6) Take food which are low in calories, like oatmeal, sweet potates.
7) Do not take foods which have high salt content.
8) Take food which are rich in chromium, like broccoli and barley, mushrooms, oysters
9) Take more fibre through vegetables, legumes .The fibre may help to slow down the rate at which glucose is absorbed. It may also produce a sense of fullness and thus reduce the problem of overeating.
10) Take fenogeek which is present in the curry spice, it contain a soluble fibre called galactomannan.
11) Onion contains ally propyl disulfide and allicin and compounds which are similar to tolbutamide, an antidiabetic medicine. It increases metabolism of liver for glucose, increase release of insulin and prevent insulin destruction.
12) Do not get over stressed.
13 ) Take some gingko or bilberry to increase blood flow and reduce the damaged done to the eyes of the sufferers.
14) Quit smoking.
15) Avoid mashed potato as it has higher glycemix index, which measure the rate at which sugar level
in the blood raises.
16) Avoid animal fats because saturated fatty acids in the cells will increase insulin resistance.
17) Avoid diary milk for the first year of life, as studies has found out that this will avoid juvenile diabetes.
